Each year, the Goldman Environmental Prize is awarded to grassroots environmental champions from around the world. In 1999, both Jacqui Katona and Yvonne Margarula jointly won the Goldman Environmental Prize for their work to stop the proposed uranium mine at Jabiluka. Read more via the Goldman Prize website.
