‘No Ranger’ – Anti-Uranium mining protest, Melbourne, 1978
Black and white photograph. From a collection of photographs by activist Lyn McLeavy (1948-2020), taken while working with Campaign Against Racial Exploitation (CARE) and its subgroup Campaign Against Mining Aboriginal Land (CAMAL) between 1976 and 1980. The photographs record three demonstrations held in Melbourne between 1978 and 1979 against uranium mining on Aboriginal land and a Rock Against Racism concert in 1980.
